Vitae Plus<\/strong> food supplement contains insoluble and water-soluble beta-glucans. These beta-glucans are obtained from yeast by biotechnological methods. The technology developed by Biocentras scientists for obtaining water-soluble beta-glucans of different molecular weights is unique and protected by Lithuanian and international patents (No. LT6145 and No. WO2015159134A).<\/p>\n

Today, many studies show that soluble glucans can reduce total cholesterol and LDL levels in patients with hypercholesterolaemia.<\/p>\n

Hypercholesterolaemia is one of the main risk factors for cardiovascular disease, together with metabolic syndrome, hypertension and diabetes. Despite progress, new methods for preventing and treating dyslipidaemia are still being sought, and current treatments for cardiovascular disease cause various side effects.<\/p>\n

Beta-glucans<\/strong> are linear, unbranched polysaccharides found in various natural sources such as fungi, yeast and oats. Because of their structure, they can interact with innate immune receptors, but they also act as dietary fibre in the digestive tract. As there are two forms of beta-glucans, insoluble and soluble, they can interact with lipids and bile salts in the intestine and thus reduce cholesterol levels. Based on currently available data on natural beta-glucans, they may be a suitable therapeutic food supplement for people prone to dyslipidaemia. They are natural molecules that do not cause any significant side effects.<\/p>\n

Many beta-glucan studies have now been carried out, discussing evidence confirming the effect of beta-glucans on cholesterol levels.<\/strong><\/p>\n

An important benefit of beta-glucan is strengthening the immune system and lowering blood cholesterol. Several studies have shown the benefits of beta-glucan: antiseptic, antioxidant, anti-ageing, immune system activator, radiation protection, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic and anticholesterolaemic effects, etc.<\/p>\n

Together with other phospholipid substances, cholesterol forms the main structural components of cell membranes and takes part in their biochemical activity. Cholesterol is a molecule essential to all animal life, which is why every cell in the body can synthesise it.<\/p>\n

Cholesterol can harm organisms only when its concentration in the blood is elevated, especially when the level of its oxidised LDL form (oxidised LDL) is elevated. This can cause long-term chronic inflammation of the arterial wall, leading to increased cholesterol accumulation. It is generally accepted that various types of dietary fibre, including beta-glucans<\/strong>, have a positive effect on health without causing significant side effects.<\/p>\n

Over the past few decades, it has been claimed that increasing the amount of fibre, including beta-glucans, in the diet lowers cholesterol levels.<\/p>\n

The full course consists of 30 bottles, to be taken in the following order: start with the box marked number 1<\/strong>, taking one bottle a day<\/u><\/strong>.
