The production of the enzyme complex (Salizolis) involves highly qualified scientists, special equipment, controlled biotechnological processes and quality assurance. The selection of the microorganism Streptomyces gougerotii as the producer, its cultivation technology, and the production, isolation and purification of the enzyme complex began many years ago with the aim of creating a preparation that would actively promote the healing of skin lesions and help the skin regenerate after burns. And it worked – in preclinical studies, Salizolis was effective and led to better skin healing compared with the standard protocol for burn wounds.
Later came the idea of including the enzyme complex in cosmetic products. This is how the LUKE line was created, with a regenerating, skin-friendly effect.
Every batch of the enzyme complex is tested in a quality control laboratory to make sure it meets high quality requirements.
In cosmetics, it gently removes dead skin cells. Unlike acids, it cannot be overdosed, so there is no aggressive effect even if the cream is used several times a day. Of course, if strong exfoliation is needed, the enzyme complex will not provide it – it works without damaging the skin’s natural barrier, only gently “polishing” it.
Working non-aggressively, the enzyme complex also effectively promotes healing of skin cracks or lesions and prevents scarring. This is consistently confirmed by our best-selling product, the Ultra Hydrogel.
The products are suitable for sensitive skin, but people with very sensitive skin should assess the effect individually. There are universal products such as the Ultra Hydrogel, which is used even on cracked, chapped or stinging skin. It soothes, protects, maintains hydration and promotes skin healing.
Some LUKE products suit very dry and sensitive skin (e.g. the Regenerative Cream), while others suit sensitive skin with more active sebaceous glands (e.g. The Fount serum or the Avena moisturising cream).

When the LUKE line was created, the primary goal of the products was to improve the skin’s recovery and regeneration functions and to strengthen its natural lipid barrier, which protects it from aggressive external factors. So you will clearly see a noticeable result if your skin was previously dry, chapped, affected by eczema or flaky. Relief and reduced discomfort are felt from the first day, and an overall improvement in skin condition is noticeable after a week of use.
LUKE products are not tested on animals. Some manufacturers still advertise “not tested on animals” as an advantage, even though testing finished cosmetic products on animals has been banned since 2004. In 2013, a complete ban was introduced (the full marketing ban), which means that no products or ingredients tested on animals may be placed on the EU market, wherever in the world the testing was carried out (source: European Commission).

Unlike the insoluble β-glucan supplements currently on the market that are used to stimulate the immune system, which the human body is unable to break down into the most bioavailable water-soluble fragments, the β-glucans developed by Biocentras are soluble and activate the target cells of the immune system as soon as they enter the body. By interacting with previously identified receptors on the cell surface, β-glucans begin to effectively stimulate the immune system and/or initiate processes that stop the proliferation of malignant cells.

According to the conclusions of the experimental study of the State Research Centre (No. ST-2017-09-04/01), Biocentras’ beta-glucan therapeutic composition called Imuno M inhibited the proliferation of cancer cells. Imuno M beta-glucan preparations suppressed the multiplication of SP2/0 tumour cells.
The beta-glucan preparation studied showed immunostimulatory properties, as it stimulated phagocytosis by macrophages. The most active stimulation of phagocytosis, up to 26%, was achieved with a 2 µg/ml concentration of the Imuno M-S preparation.
