Description

De-Pass – is a preparation obtained from biotechnologically treated Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast. The biologically active compounds it contains – polysaccharides, proteins, lipids and vitamins – have a positive effect on the body’s immune system and influence nervous processes through different biological pathways.

Taken over time, the De-Pass food supplement helps restore a normal emotional biorhythm and overcome emotional fatigue, anxiety and mood swings.

  • A preparation that harmonises the nervous system.
  • Helps restore a normal emotional biorhythm and overcome emotional fatigue, anxiety and mood swings.

Soluble and insoluble beta-glucans and mannans — biologically active compounds obtained from Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast treated by biotechnological methods.

Recently, scientific medicine has been paying more and more attention to research into the benefits of probiotics and prebiotics for living organisms, including humans. Previously, their importance was mostly discussed in gastroenterology as one of the key factors maintaining digestive system homeostasis, but today there is more and more reliable information on the link between probiotics and prebiotics and the nervous system and neurological processes in the body.

The theory of the link between the brain and the gut, called the gut–brain axis, has a solid basis. A link has been established between the body’s emotional state and the gut, due to the microorganisms living in it and the products of their activity. The products of microbial activity (biologically active substances) can have a negative effect or, conversely, significantly improve the condition of the body, depending on what produces them and which group of compounds they belong to. Biologically active, immunity-modulating polysaccharides play a major role here: low-molecular-weight soluble beta-glucans and longer-chain, water-insoluble beta-glucans.

Recent research has shed light on the influence of gut bacteria on our brain and behaviour. Studies of gut bacteria in this respect have found that products of pathogenic bacteria, such as lipopolysaccharides (LPS), can cause behavioural disorders such as acute anxiety, symptoms of depression, cognitive deficits and increased sensitivity to visceral pain. Modulating LPS production through probiotics and prebiotics can prevent these changes. It has also been observed that immune mechanisms indirectly affect brain activity through the gut–brain axis. Certain molecules on the surface of bacteria, or the products of bacterial activity themselves, can even cause phenotypic changes in immune cells, which can lead to various neurological disorders.

Conversely, beneficial prebiotics, acting as mediators through lymphoid tissue (GALT – gut-associated lymphoid tissue), can indirectly affect the activity of other organs and bring about positive changes in the body related to the immune response and the nervous system.

Beta-glucans are a heterogeneous group of natural polysaccharides made up of D-glucose monomers linked by β-glycosidic bonds. They are important structural elements of the cell wall or serve as energy stores in bacteria, fungi (including yeast), algae and plants, but are absent in vertebrates and invertebrates. However, not all beta-glucans have immunomodulating properties. These properties depend mainly on the primary chemical structure of the beta-glucans. For example, cellulose, although it belongs to the glucan group, has no immunomodulating effect.
In contrast, beta-glucans obtained from fungi and yeast, whose molecular structure is based on (1,3)-β-glycosidic bonds between glucose monomers, have an immunomodulating effect. The biotechnology company Biocentras has been actively researching beta-glucans isolated from the outer cell walls of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast since 2012.
